Redding Dirt Riders "Buckhorn Dual Sport" - KTM National Two-day Dual Sport Ride

The Redding Dirt Riders will be holding a two-day, AMA Sanctioned, Recreational Dual Sport ride September 12th and 13th, 2009 near Lakehead, CA. This is a chance for you to enjoy two days of scenic terrain, with a focus on challenging single track trails.

From staging at the Basshole Bar and Grill in Lakehead, CA we'll ride routes on the East side of I-5, making an all day journey to Mt. Shasta, CA where we'll spend the night and enjoy the lower temperatures of the mountain elevations. We'll be doing gear transport on this ride, you may drop off your bag at staging where it will be waiting for you when you arrive in Mt. Shasta.

Bag pickup/drop off in Mt. Shasta will be at the Best Western Tree House (click for details). There are many things to do in Mt. Shasta, shopping, dining and sight-seeing. The Tree House is located within walking distance of downtown Mt. Shasta.

Sunday morning after dropping off your bag, we'll leave Mt. Shasta and make our way back to Lakehead through routes on the West side of I-5. Like Saturday, you will be riding more-advanced trails with limited easy routes.

Riders will be provided with GPS tracks only, if you do not have a GPS unit, we'll place you in a group of riders with GPS. Lunch will be provided on Saturday to registered riders as our lunch stop will be "in the middle of nowhere". Limited gas will be available, and will be provided only if needed. Sunday's lunch stop will be in the Trinity Center area, with no-host lunch and gas available.

This event is open to all currently registered/street legal motorcycles--there will be a tech inspection/sound check to ensure that our legal requirements are met with AMA, USFS, BLM and CHP. Knobby-type tires are a MUST...there will be many advanced sections. You must be able to ride a minimum of 75 miles between gas stops. Do your maintenance before you arrive, there will be no "chase truck" on this ride.

Online registration is CLOSED. Friday evening registrations will be possible, though will be on a "first-come, first-served" basis. All registered riders will receive a free t-shirt!

A pdf flyer and entry form for this event is [HERE].

We hope to see you for this incredible riding opportunity!
