2012 New Years Day Poker Run

Sunday, January 01, 2012

Congratulations and thanks to everyone that rode in the 2012 New Year’s Day Poker Run hosted by the Redding Dirt Riders. The weather was perfect and we were able to do a fun, 35 mile loop! We had almost 350 paid riders—it was a sea of smiling faces.

PHOTOS: PhotocrossAction.com was there taking everyone’s pictures, they have all of those pics uploaded, you can find them [here]. Please help support them and your ego by purchasing a keepsake of how awesome you looked out there!

We gave away over 150 t-shirts to the first ones in line. If you didn’t get one and want one, we will have more printed to sell to you for $15.00 each. Just send an email to us at info@reddingdirtriders.com with your name and size(s). We MUST hear from you before Friday, January 6th!

As always, this event would not be nearly as much fun without the support of local bike shops that donate merchandise for our poker hand drawing. We ask that you buy local to keep them in business in these tough economic times! Fator’s, Lee’s, Redding Yamaha, Cycle Salvage, Johnny’s Cycles, Airheads and Red Bluff Yamaha (see links on our website).

Thanks to our vendors, PhotocrossAction.com, Applejack’s T-Shirts, and the many local merchants we bought everything from.

Thanks to Corum Ranch for letting us stay there so it wasn’t so far to get to the event after our New Year’s Eve party! Corum ranch has many rooms/houses that can be rented, as well as horse rides, bicycling and is a prime spot to stage an OHV outing for those that don’t want to camp.

And a special thanks to the many unsung heros, BOR/Shasta Dam security, BLM/Sky Zaffarano, local residents of the OHV Area that are disrupted. And especially to the Redding Dirt Rider members and their families that support this event every year, rain or shine. Not only do they volunteer their time, but we charge them a membership fee also!

Happy New Year to all. Ride safe!
